FLIGHTSEEING and ADVENTURE

For your recreational and ecotour pursuits, we offer a full schedule of flying fun and adventure. Contact us with your ideas and questions, or for assistance in making your plans.

TOURS vs. TRIPS
There is a fundamental difference between a flightseeing tour and an adventure trip. Flightseeing tours highlight the aerial views and are basically non-stop missions, while adventure trips focus on transportation from "point A" to "point B." Tours entail very little baggage and gear, while adventure trips usually involve a heavier gear pile than the weight of the passengers. Let us help you determine which type of service best fits your needs.

Flightseeing Tours are great for seeing the area without having to spend the time and energy to camp or hike around. We have flown a lot of tours over the years, so using that experience, we put together pre-planned tour routes taking in the points of interest most visitors to our area want to see. These routes are detailed out for your planning convenience. We invite you to review our menu and choose what best fits your interest. Or feel free to contact us about planning your personally-customized tour. Egli Air Haul is eager to show you our Bristol Bay sights.

Adventure Trips are the ultimate way to experience the real Alaska. It seems to us that it's a great thing to be able to fly overhead at, say, 1000 feet and 100 miles an hour. But it's a whole new dimension when you can get your feet on the ground in the middle of a vast remote vista, smell the flowers, pick the wild berries, hear the wildlife; in short, actually BE there. Our adventure trips give you the best of both these worlds. Not only do you get the camping, hiking, or fishing adventures you pursue on the ground, you get the air tour out and back!

Egli Air offers a number of different flightseeing tours and adventure trips. From the hardcore fishing excursion to a family/friends one-day picnic tour, you make the choice. Let us know the specifics, and we will spare no effort to bring your Alaska air adventure to reality.

FLIGHTSEEING TOURS
To really see Katmai National Park and other Bristol Bay areas

Egli Air Tours are typically a non-stop flight, taking your group to see the many wonders found in Bristol Bay. Your view from 500 feet or more altitude, is breath-taking. The low-level portion of your ride will be an adrenaline rush, and from a hover in our helicopter, you will probably see things you would miss any other way. The photo and scenic opportunities are world-class. Most tour groups want to see Katmai National Park sites. As this area is designated "national park & wilderness area," helicopter landings are not allowed there. (We CAN offer certain exclusive access to park/refuge areas. Contact us for details.)

All helicopter tours, and some airplane tours, can easily include a landing stop outside the park or refuge for lunch, beach-combing, or whatever; we just have to plan it as a custom tour.

Katmai Tours
See the vast wilderness of Alaska's Katmai National Park. Over-fly the Valley of Ten-thousand Smokes, Mt. Novarupta, and the Bay of Islands. If the weather cooperates, hover around Katmai Caldera. Fly over Lake Coville, American Creek, Battle Lake and more. Or go all the way out to the Pacific seacoast, taking in Lake Brooks, Trident Volcano, the Katmai River and Kaguyak Crater Lake along the way. Discover some of the best-kept secrets in the park.

Bristol Bay Fishery Tour
This tour features the Sockeye Salmon fishing grounds. This tour is most meaningful during the commercial fishing season (end of June through July 20th). Fly off-shore out over the Naknek/Kvichak fishing grounds, past "ships' anchorage," and on to the Egegik fishing grounds. Return via Smelt Lake, for a chance to see wildlife on the open tundra of the Alaska Peninsula. During actual "open fishing" periods, you can see the action as the Bristol Bay Commercial Fishers (some of them real renegades) battle it out for "their fair share." (It's a wonder that anyone can survive this intense commercial fishing season retaining any sanity at all.)

Custom Tours
Give us the details of what you want to do and leave it up to us to make it a reality for you.

ADVENTURE TRIPS
Experience the adventure from King Salmon, Alaska

Egli Air Ventures are typically a flight from King Salmon, taking your group out to the specified landing site for drop-off with your gear; then on the pre-arranged date, return the aircraft to that same specified landing site for your pick-up and return to King Salmon. (You will want to go prepared for weather delay; pick-up day could be hours, or even days later if the weather gets bad. It's all part of the adventure!)

Experience the vast wilderness of Southwest Alaska. From one-day adventures to multi-day Alaskan safaris, Egli Air Haul can get you where few - if any - humans have ever been. If fishing is your quest we can set you down for the fishing of a lifetime. With our helicopter we can take you to spots all other modes of transportation cannot. Hiking, fishing, photography, bear viewing, backpacking, rafting/kayaking/canoeing, or beach combing and clam digging, even skiing - all these adventures are waiting for you just outside the doors of our helicopter.

Many venture groups want to access Katmai National Park, Becharof National Wildlife Refuge sites, or etc. As these areas are designated "national park, refuge, wilderness area, preserve, or wild & scenic river," helicopter landings are not allowed there. (We CAN offer certain exclusive access to park/refuge areas. Contact us for details.)
